Why choose an “eco friendly” Hotel?
Recently, the development of the territory, the originality of Italian cuisine and its ingredients, the discovery of a more intimate connection with nature and with the environment, has guided our guests in the choice of the location where they will to spend their leisure time and holidays.
It is not only a trend in eco-friendly tourism but a completely new way of approaching life and the world around us. A green and eco-friendly approach is the best way to convey to our guests the passion for the wonders of our territory.
The beauty that surrounds our structure is a gift that is our duty to preserve; which is why we have made our structure an Eco-Friendly facility by the sea.
But how is a Green Facility made?
More attention to the environment and its sustainability, is not only demanded by tourists, who are increasingly searching for Green Facilities (two-thirds of tourists declare to prefer an eco-friendly structure), but also by the planet itself. Taking action and making sustainable choices to preserve the planet for future generations is now a priority.
Transforming a structure into a Green Facility is of utmost importance and today it is possible by taking some concrete actions; the selected materials and the energy sources utilized, but also the choice of the right products, the catering, all combined with the actions performed by our staff daily.
What have we done do make of our hotel an eco friendly structure?
Our Thalasso Spa pools are heated with special ‘emission-free’ heat pumps. A choice that ensures our guests a zero impact wellness experience.
We adopt a plastic-free approach throughout the entire structure. In our green hotel, we do not sell water in plastic bottles, but we offer our guests the possibility to buy an eco-friendly reusable bottle, which can be refilled at no charge from our bars. In addition, we do not use plastic bottles for any other kind of drink and the disposable cups are ecological and biodegradable. We ask our guests, during their entire stay, to adhere to our philosophy and adopt a plastic-free approach.
A green hotel is distinguished from the construction materials selected and our structure is constructed using mainly Wood and Glass, two materials of low environmental impact. Apart from lending the style of the structure elegant and relaxing, this choice preserves the environment and protects the natural scenery in which our hotel is immersed.
The materials used in Treatments and massages at the Thalasso SPA are exclusively Bio, with non animal testing. Therefore the Wellness Line on sale at the Spa and in our online store is exclusively Biological.
Our Donna Elvira restaurant, is an excellence of local gastronomy, preserving since 1952 the genuine Cilento culinary tradition. Now, as in days gone by, the traditional cuisine has been transmitted to our green hotel with top quality local products. The ‘farm to table’ ingredients used in our kitchen come from local cultivations and livestock from the Cilento National Park. Daily fresh-caught fish is ensured from local fishing boats bringing ‘sea to table’ the Cilento flavours skillfully orchestrated by the hands of our chef, and from our gastronomic excellence partners ‘Santo Miele’ and ‘Gelateria di Matteo.
